HISTORY OF THE LIBRARY

The Library of the Foundation of the Hellenic World (FHW) began aiming at servicing the needs of the Foundation’s staff and at supporting their research work.

With the construction of the new Research Centre, it was decided to develop and expand the Library, in order to make its content available to the public. So, in its new form, the Library will provide its services both to the members of the Foundation and to the wider, research and not, public. For this reason, since January 2008 we have started to record and process the printed material of the Library in the National Documentation Center Library Automation System ABEKT 5.5. of the National Documentation Centre. ABEKT 5.5 is used by most of the public and private libraries in Greece and Cyprus, as well as by educational research foundations and other institutions.
